HOW TO ENTER: To enter, submit a great idea or a proven solution on how Dow Corning's Hot Melt Technology can be used as problem solver in your plant in 500 words. Log on to www.kamandirect.com/hotmelt, fill out the online entry form, type in your essay where indicated and click “submit.” Online entries must be received between 12:01 a.m. (ET) on 9/15/06 and 11:59 p.m. (ET) on 12/15/06. All other forms of Internet or e-mail entry void. Limit one (1) submission per person.
ELIGIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION: Contest open only to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States (excludes Alaska and Hawaii), who are at least 18 years of age, except employees (and their immediate families — meaning spouses, parents, siblings, children and their spouses—and those living in their same household) of Kaman Industrial Technologies, Dow Corning, Plant Engineering, their affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, franchisees, promotion and advertising agencies and anyone involved in the contest development or execution. By taking part in this contest, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right permanently to disqualify from this contest any person it believes has intentionally violated these Rules. Contest subject to all Federal, state and local laws. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
VALIDATIONS: Contest materials are void if illegible or if forged or tampered with, or if they contain printing, mechanical or other errors. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Sponsors and its agencies are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer hardware or software transmissions or technical failures, incomplete, delayed or garbled transmissions or other errors or problems of any kind, whether mechanical, electronic, human or otherwise, or whether caused by Sponsor, users, or by any of the equipment or programming utilized in this Contest. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Contest for any reason. Essays must be the original work of the entrant and must never have been published. They may not violate the publicity, privacy or any other proprietary rights of any person or entity. All entries become the sole property of Sponsors none will be returned. By entering, entrants give Sponsors the right to post any essay on their respective web sites. Essays may be edited and published or otherwise used, in whole or in part, in any and all media for any and all purposes, including advertising and promotion. In the event of any dispute regarding the identity of a person submitting an on-line entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized e-mail account holder, which is defined for these Rules as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: Three (3) winners will be selected by a committee of Kaman Industrial Technologies, Dow Corning and Plant Engineering based on the following criteria, which will be weighed equally: (i) solution (ii) creativity and (iii) adaptability to others. Any entries containing words that are not appropriate for publication will be disqualified. All decisions made by the judges are final and not subject to appeal. Winners will be notified by mail, phone or email on or around 12/31/06. If any winner cannot be contacted within one week of selection, an alternate winner may be chosen. PRIZES: 1. One (1) First Prize: $200 Visa Gift Card, a Hot Melt Applicator and a Kaman Jacket (ARV: $250). 2. One (1) Second Prize: $100 Visa Gift Card, a Hot Melt Applicator and a Kaman Jacket (ARV: $150). 3. One (1) Third Prize: $50 Visa Gift Card, a Hot Melt Applicator and a Kaman Jacket (ARV: $100). 4. The First One Hundred (100) Submissions will receive a Flashlight (ARV: $10).
GENERAL CONDITIONS: All Federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of winners. By participating in this Contest, entrants and winners release Sponsors and their affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, shareholders, advertising and promotion agencies, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents and all others associated with the development or execution of this Contest from any and all liability in any way arising from this Contest, Contest-related activities, and/or the receipt, use or misuse of a prize or parts thereof, including, without limitation, liability for death, personal injury, damage or loss of any kind, and from liability to any other persons relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with this Contest. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use a winners’ name on Kaman Industrial Technologies, Dow Corning, and/or Plant Engineering websites and to use winners’ name, city, state, likeness, photograph, and submitted essay for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation. Each winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability (and where not prohibited by law) Publicity Release.

MISCELLANEOUS: Participants agree that this Contest is governed solely by United States law. Any claims arising out of the Contest shall be governed solely by United States law and may be brought only in a Federal or state court in Connecticut. If any provisions of these Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.
